Foundation Announces 3nd Annual The second annual Partners in Education Celebration, an evening to honor supporters of Farmington Area Public Schools, is slated for Friday, April 17, 2009. A fund-raiser for the Farmington Area Education Foundation, the spring event celebrates the efforts of District 192 staff members, volunteers, and community partners with an evening of food, entertainment and fun. Last year, the event raised more than $3,000 to benefit the Foundation, which supports and enriches education opportunities for students in Farmington. In addition to honoring current and retiring staff members, the Foundation will once again present four awards: Community Partner of the Year, School Volunteer of the Year, Distinguished Alumnus/a, and the Bill Patterson Distinguished Staff Member Award. Residents are encouraged to submit nominations for the awards to the Foundation by Febuary 27, 2009. Nomination forms are available at Farmington area schools or online. The 2009 Partners in Education Celebration will be held at the new Farmington American Legion. Tickets are $35 and include dinner, entertainment, awards program and silent auction.
